Im nearly 35 weeks pregnant and this weekend my mom is coming over to paint the nursery and our bedroom. I wont be doing any of the painting but im sure i will smell the fumes a tiny bit. Does anyone know if this is dangerous?

You should be okay. Though paint fumes can cause birth defects, you are far along anough that your baby won't have anything new forming, just growing in size. If you have a supersensitive sense of smell like most pregnant women, the paint will probably bother you though, so it may help to go out shopping while your mom paints.

From what I've read, just try to make sure the room is very well ventilated. Make sure windows are open or have a fan. Some of these new paints come with NO odor. Perhaps you can ask about them when you purchase your paint. Good luck and happy painting!

it is not dangerous , just make sure you keep the room well ventilated. i guess most of us worry about this as we start nesting and so close to your birth date but its fine.being pregnant you will probably find the smell more overpowering than the rest of us, so it might be a good idea to stay out for the nite

yes its extremely dangerous, the fumes have been known to cause birth defects, seriously when I was pregnant I would curse anyone who so much as lit a candle near me, chemical can cause birth defects which is why you shouldnt smoke either, they have done research, since your baby is already developed it could cause problems with its brain development

Yes it can be and I would go somewhere else for the day and night until you get rid of the fumes.
