Your search box is a so-called FORM. So go to the TOOLS menu and pick Internet Options. Then go to the CONTENT section. Click on AutoComplete and click on CLEAR FORMS.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Many web browser save information about the words you type into web pages, which is called form information. If you are using Internet Explorer 6, click "Tools", select "Internet Options", click "Content" tab, push "AutoComplete", and push "Clear Forms" button. If you are using Internet Explorer 7, click "Tools", select "Internet Options", click "General" tab, push "Delete...", and push "Delete forms..." button.

Your web browser also probably saves copies of the pages you have visited (cache information) and addresses of the pages you have visited (history information). If you are using Internet Explorer 6, click "Tools", select "Internet Options", push "Delete Files..." and "Clear History" buttons. If you are using Internet Explorer 7, click "Tools", select "Internet Options", click "General" tab, push "Delete...", push "Delete files..." and "Delete history..." buttons.
