The cell

Cr(s)│ Cr3+(aq)║ Cu2+(aq)│Cu(s)

has Eo = +1.08V.

If Eo for the half cell Cu2+/Cu = +0.34 V calculate Eo for the Cr3+/Cr half cell.

Give a balanced equation for the cell reaction. How many electrons are transferred in the equation you have provided?

EMF = E(left) - E(right)
1.08 = E(left) - 0.34
E(left) = +1.42V

2Cr(s) + 3Cu2+(aq) --> 2Cr3+(aq) + 3Cu(s)

6 electrons are transferred.
