Spellcheck doesn't stick out as much as PREVIEW. And, so people are less inclined to click on the link.

u mean like on email? coz it's slow.
And if u mean yahoo answers, coz people sometimes use short forms for words..e.g. didnt for didn't, coz for because, etc.
And it's really not that important to check spelling for informal posts such as YahooAswers, people usually check spelling when typing letters, or similar stuff. Softwares like MSword have auto spell-check, and underlines your spelling mistakes. Sometimes because of the difference in US & UK spellings, and for short forms, symbols, etc. my text get underlined, i feel annoyed.
So many cons to a spell-checker, it's no wonder people don't use it. I only use it when I'm submitting coursework, or sending an email to someone important, or for quality text for public's view, or typing a letetr. Something in that line.

Because it's easier to force other people to figure out what you mean than to click a little box at the right side of the Your Answer screen.

As an aspiring writer, I like it. But sometimes obscure words will come up as wrong. When in doubt, I always reach for the dictionary.

Because it would be an admission of failure. Based on that fact, I'm guessing men use it a lot less than women.
