freechess.org is reputed to be the best but I cant get it to load on my mac. Chess in yahoo games is the one I use as I refuse to pay for any of the others. Its not bad either

I play at World Chess Network- It is a pay site like ICC but much easier to use and the graphical interface is simply lovely. It's also a Pure Chess site with many lectures, banters and Master Challenges held by Grandmasters FIDE masters as well as international masters from across the globe.
