I don't know for absolute certain, but I know boric acid is said to work really well for them, however its a messy powder. Combat brand roach killer are the same in that they have small containers that house concentrated boric acid so you don't have to use the powder everywhere. The roaches carry the boric acid they feed on back to the nest. Maybe you can buy the small ones and stick them in your furniture, (i.e. inside the couch, behind the drawers, etc.). Give it time to work on the nests.
Also, people use those home fumigation kits. They release a fog, you may want to use these defoggers in those areas.

Boric acid is the best and the fastest put it along baseboards it takes about to weeks to see them gone, it even takes care of the new ones that hatch. When you move to your new place put it out there too. You may not bring them with you but they may already be there. After they are gone vacuum the powder up and you might think about having the upholstery professionally cleaned (not that expensive).

Boric acid, it is very effective when used properly for killing cockroaches and most other insects. You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them. More information at http://tinyurl.com/ofxkk
