Most likely audiences would have preferred color, I think Spielberg choose to film it in black & white because it gave the film a historical proinmence in keeping with the film news reels and other WWII moive of that period. Black and white also give the film a emotioinal tone to it that I do ot know if it would keep had it been in color.

well bit of a guess...

1. reminding people of the olden days and what it was like during war time
2. people would get bored because they want colour
3. the expense

powerful film tho, i think that the black and white really helped to portray the period of time and the message. the red coat of the little girl really gave something to the audience that would have been lost if it was all in colour.

maximum folk think of of black and white video clips as being previous. it is not something they are drawn to. additionally, the objective of a action picture including this being in black and white is it style of evens issues out. It places each and every person on equivalent footing in some aspects. you notice the way the jews are dressed, yet without shade, you won't be in a position to thoroughly examine their project to the Nazi's in the action picture. i think of of this as a good ingredient, yet in addition a threat. it incredibly is a good ingredient considering you have been plenty greater in all danger to become in touch in the emotional conflict than the rest.
