Yes. He heard my prayers when I was battling drug and alcohol addiction -- he delivered me and I have now 12 years of sobriety because of Him. He heard my prayers when I was going through grief and pain -- he held my hand so that they were bearable. He heard my prayers when I was unable to stop smoking on my own -- He made a way miraculously and I have been quit for 7 years now. He heard my prayers when I asked for help when I was at death's door three times from a ruptured brain aneurysm -- I have lived almost 7 years since then. He heard my prayers when the doctors said I would not walk well on my own again -- not only do I walk, but I run now. He heard my prayers when I had lost all my mathematical ability -- I can now do better math than I was able to, before I got sick.
He is there every day, and when I trust Him, big things happen. Coincidences happen, miraculously, every single time I pray and trust Him completely, especially when I am desperate and I speak my faith: "I believe the Lord Jesus can and will help me, and I am not going to stop trusting Him, no matter how long I have to wait for His help or His answer." But above all else, He has granted me great peace, throughout all the bad things I had to go through in my life. He offered me comfort and friendship. He has taught me how to love and forgive even my enemies, even the one who killed my Dad when I was 10 years old. He has taught me how to have joy, even in circumstances where most people would be miserable. He will do all these things for any person who turns to Him in complete trust and desperation.
I did not always believe in Jesus. But today, I will never stop believing. Because the same Jesus who has never once failed me when I believed in Him and trusted Him... is the same Jesus who offers remission of sins, a mended relationship with God, eternal life, and a mansion in heaven, to all who will believe in Jesus. He offers this to every person. I want to be like the man who said to Jesus... "Lord, I believe... Please help my unbelief!!"
I believe in Jesus.
I believe He is the Son of God.
I believe He died and rose again.
I believe He paid for us all.
And I believe He is here now, standing in our midst
Here with the power to heal us, and the grace to forgive.
