Is buckminsterfullerene a simple molecular substance or a giant covalent substance?

this is due to the property of carbon to attach with other carbon atoms (also exhibited by sulphur). this property is called catenation.

it is pure carbon.
purely covalent giant molecule C-60.(i.e 60 atoms bond themselves to form one molecule)

It is a molecule off pure carbon.
Like carbon nanotubes it"s molecular structure comes from the method manufacture.
The fullerene is a closed structure,the nanotube is open.
Both are pure carbon..
