It's currently believed that the universe itself has a finite lifespan, and it's hard to see how the human race could possibly survive the end of the universe. However, I see no reason why our race couldn't last for at least as long as there are stars in the sky.
Earth itself will be destroyed in a few billion years. As the sun burns through its fuel, it will eventually evolve into a red giant star and swallow the earth (which will obviously become uninhabitable before then anyway). However, a few billion years is a long time. Our descendants may well figure out a way to migrate to other, younger stars long before then.
Resource depletion can't cause human extinction, since it's possible to live sustainably. The sun (or whatever star) will be a steady source of free energy for billions of years, and recycling (in one form or another) can allow people to live sustainably.

Humans require energy to exist, and there is a limited amount of it in available in the universe.
Coal, oil, gas, uranium, all these things we dig out of the ground for fuel to generate energy, and they will eventually run out. We could potentially learn to fuse hydrogen, but again there is a limited amount of that on earth, and it would eventually be used up.
Geothermal energy (energy from the heat of magma) will no longer be available once the earth's interior cools off. It has already happened to some of the smaller bodies in the solar system, such as the Moon and Mars, and it will eventually happen to the Earth as well.
Plants, wind power, and water power are all derived from the energy of the sun, which will no longer be available once the sun burns itself out, which it will do eventually (we have seen other, older stars burn out through telescopes).
After that, the only option we will have will be to head off to another planet, where we could stay for a while, until whatever the source of energy there is runs out as well. Eventually there will be no more sources of energy, without which there would be no way to keep warm, produce food, or operate any technology. So unless there is some infinitely renewable source of energy which we have not yet discovered, there is no way for human life to continue indefinitely.

The human existence will be possible but not forever because we will face the big crunch when evrything will be crunched in 40 billion years.

There's an interesting book by Freeman Dyson on this subject called "Infinite in all Directions". The short answer is "maybe".

Check out this site: http://www.exitmundi.nl/exitmundi.htm
It goes through all sorts of end-of-humanity scenarios (some religious, most scientific)... Check out the "ZZZ-ZZZZ" one, specifically... Of course that's just hypothetical but maybe you'll find it interesting.

We are killing ourselves by making too many people. If a nuclear conflict doesn't kill us then starvation and lack of potable water will be our demise.
