You may find that a sub folder has been added to your temp file in Internet explorer , use tools and delete files to see if this cures problem (Internet options or delete history ). if not in program files/ accessories/clean up you may find that you can clean your hard drive from here and get rid of it that way Be careful that you don't remove files you want to keep whilst in this program . A list of things to delete will pop up you tick the boxes as to what you want cleaned . usually everything from downloaded files is OK to delete but if your not sure dont delete also not any previous system files such as win 98 or 2000 if you are running xp . hope this helps. You may also have a trojan virus these deposit sleeper programs to reinstall when you rebboot , use a good virus scan and delete them or get a free scan from one of the many online sites offering this service. Alternateley if this folder is causing you no problems can you live with it and just Ignore it . ?

you never said what type of folder,if you put it there assuming you know the folder name if not give it one[put cursor over folder n right click change name]put a search on to find all traces then delete.now if it was put there by some dodgy website let say a porn site not that you would ever go on one it is possible for them to hide where the folder is when you search for it, you will need to restart your pc pressing f8 on start up & start in safe mode search again find and delete folder.[had to do this for my brother]this allso works if you want to delete a program & it says it it in use or protected

Does the folder contain a virus? trojan? Either of these probably have scripts that replicate themselves. go to trendmicro.com and click free online scan which will remove viruses.

It could be stored under C:\Documents & Settings.
See if the folder is stored under All Users, it could be stored under that profile.
It could also be a virus so a scan is worth a shot too
