The Olympic Mountains, part of Olympic National Park, are in the NW corner of Washington State. Here's more information:

From what I remember, they are the "youngest" mountains in the country. If you ever get the chance, I'd highly recommend visiting Hurricane Ridge, near Port Angeles...it's by far the best view of the mountains!
In central Washington, we also have the Cascade Mountains, which are also very beautiful. Here is more information on those as well:
http://www.nps.gov/noca
They have what's called the Cascade Loop, which is a beautiful scenic drive that also takes you to places like Winthrop and Leavenworth, two very unique and fun towns.

If you were in Seattle, facing north, to your right would be the Cascade Mountains and to the left would be the Puget Sound and then the Olympic Mountains and then the Pacific ocean.

You're talking about the mountains west/northwest of Puget Sound, correct? Those would be the Olympic Mountains, located on the Olympic Peninsula.
