because of the confusion in everyones life right now he doesn't think of you getting a pet right now as a priority. I would wait until things settle down a little into the new enviroment then try again, in other words leave it for 3 or 4 months, you will probably have better luck then, in the mean time u can show him how responsible u are which will make your case stronger in the future. and hope u get a pet.

Don't use a divorce as a means to getting a new pet, it's just wrong. How much experience have you had with lizards? From how you set out this question I'm not sure you are responsible enough to have any animal. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear but it's my opinion. You should be putting time and effort into showing your dad that you care for him and not thinking only about yourself and what you can gain from a bad situation.

You can't even spell LIZARD let alone care for one. I seen too many reptiles and amphibians die from young kids and adults who think they know how to care for them, but don't. Lizards are very difficult to care for, they need large cages, very specific diets, UV lights, heat, and humidity. And they can be very expensive. The lizard can cost between $10-80, the cage can be between $50-300, lights can be between $10-50, light cases can be $30-80, and you can't use heat rocks so other heat sources can cost $30-80. Not to mention the electric bill. Also alot of the lizards sold get very big and can be very aggressive and have very sharp claws and nails. Oh and devorse is spelled divorce, and it's not right to take advantage of your Dad. If you must get a lizard please research it on this website.

Ask your dad first. Like can I have a pet you will need to have all the information at hand . Do your research this will prove that you are responsible and can understand your pets needs. if he says no please be paitent and wait untill the time is right while you are waiting do some more research and ask people who may have pets that you are interested in. I wish you good luck ( Lorna)

Tell you're parents that you'd like a pet. They'll consider it. Don't bring it up again. If they say yes, that's great! If they say no, you just have to obey and not be manipulative. ;)
if you do get a pet, do a TON of research first! here's a great site to ask questions on about ANY pet, especially reptiles, http://www.repticzone.com please go there! I would highly recommend a LEOPARD GECKO since it doesn't sound like you have any reptile experience.
btw, there's an extremely low percentage of samonella poisoning that's traced back to reptiles. And nearly ALL that come from reptiles are from chelonians (turtles and tortoises). Better check you're facts Y.

You have had some good advice here ignore the ones telling you how to spell. Best thing is to learn all you can about your chosen pet then ask your Dad. Good luck with your new pet.
