The song , I was born under a wandering star was sung by Lee Marvin in the movie Paint Your Wagon. It shows quite frequently here in Australia on pay tv and is also available on ebay.

It is from the film PAINT YOUR WAGON and was sung by Lee Marvin, you should check out Clint Eastwood singing I TALK TO THE TREES from the same film, yep, Clint sings and it's not that bad.
