All last week, they ran reports regarding Global Warming as their main feature. However, Global Warming is still highly controversial with many emminent scientists saying it's just down to the Earth's natural cycle (Apparantly, we've had many 'warming up' episodes over recent history)

All news is spin to some extent as investigative journalism is nearly dead. Labour try so hard to dictate what the headlines are they get very annoyed when something goes wrong (the investigation into cash for peerages, for example)

News everywhere is getting dumber and dumber. Even the BBC news seems to be aimed at people with low IQs thesedays.

PS: Had to laugh at the guy who said the BBC is run by 'lefties' and 'Europhiles'. He should try working there! If that was really the case the liberal democrats would be in every headline.

I've certainly never consider the ITV (ITN) news as being a mouth piece for New Labour - I imagine they ran this global warming feature because it is rather the zeitgeist at the moment. Interesting that you mention the earth's natural cycle thing - I watched a programme last night about a volcano that erupted in Iceland in1783. Most of Europe was eventually engulfed in a toxic fog (spewed from the Volcano and spread because of wind direction). The fog encased England for two months (July & August) very hot summer, many, many deaths (though inhalation) longest and coldest winter followed, then mega floods due to snow melting (capital cities in Europe under water). What happened in 1783 was far more terrifying and deadly than anything that's happened since and yet that was in 1783 - nothing to do with humans and their habits.

It's just a convenient way of justifying more taxes 'for our own good' - Brown should get a driving licence and have to pay for his own transport - he might understand that the rest of us rely on our vehicles.

News should be objectively told by impartial people - if you think ITV is Labour spin you should try watching the unbelievably biased Scottish news programmes - they don't even make an effort to give a balanced opinion - which is of course why they are such rubbish. I get my news from online and rolling news channels and just don't watch biased coverage.

THe BBC also is working to an agenda. Channel 4 news is by far and away the only news worth watching.
