It is true for many American women, not all of them. They usually have the surgery in order to fit into their shoes. When the surgery is done, those women wouldn't have to buy shoes that make their feet look big. The surgery is a way for those women to keep the pair of shoes they like a lot.

i saw an actual show, cant remember if it was oprah, or 60min, But the women are getting surgeries done, so that they may be more relaxed on their feet when wearing high heels. So one of the designers from Nike, makes a shoe, i think its Kenneth Kile or someone, but he's on Nike's design team, and he's made a whole line of shows that have the comfort of a sneaker, but or very sexy, and classy looking. That was on the oprah show, so maybe that's the show, but a doctor was talking about the surgery procedures. So yes it is true.

some women will do just about anything....*its a shame*
not judging though
