yes.
I found Berlin Schönefeld a bit of a pain. It can tke you up to 90 minutes to get in by public transport (bus) and let´s be honest, not everybody can afford a 30 euro taxi fare.
It´s a small airport and despite this smallness it takes ages to get your luggage. Let´s stick to the current setup (Tegel for business planes, Tempelhof for city hoppers and Schönefeld for the holiday charters) and everybody will be very happy. Berliners always complain SXF were too far away from the city, which is nonsense.
So rather than bus, take the (aprox) 30min S-Bahn/train. The station is via the undercover walkway. At first I couldn't see a ticket office - but in addition to the 2 automatic ticket machines, there are more ticket machines on the platforms. The S Bahn 9 takes you into the city centre in 20 minutes outside of rush hour. Buy a 3 Euro ticket.
Be careful, you have to validate the ticket before going on to the train - the signs about this are poor - so many people knew nothing about this until it was pointed out by the ticket inspector on the train and risking a EUR 40 fine.
The ticket machines are all but incomprehensible even in English unless you already understand the ticket system. The alternative - on the day I was there - was a hidden but truly appalling ticket office where a depressed middle aged woman was giving information - at great length - as well as selling tickets. These two functions should never be mixed. Additionally she did not speak a word of English. I speak German but others were not so lucky.

Yes. There are busses which depart directly in front of the airport building. But they need about 1 hour to inner berlin (as there are several centers in Berlin it's better to have the exact address as i stated in the other answer).
The best way to get to the center is with S-Bahn or Regional Express from Schoenefeld Train Station (every 20 minutes). It takes about 5 to 10 minutes walk from the airport (recommended if you don't have much luggage), but you can also take a bus to the station (every bus goes over it). From there the S-Bahn takes about half an hour to Alexanderplatz, the Regional Express 20 Minutes. To Zoo station both need 10 Minutes longer. The ticket is 2,20, not 3 euro.

Your best alternative is to take the urban rail (S-Bahn in german) number 9 direction " Spandau" . This rail stops near to the most important places of Berlin (there are around 3 or 4 stations in the so called centre of Berlin. Here you can find the complete route, so you can ask, which station could be consider for you as end station:
http://www.s-bahn-berlin.de/fahrplanundnetz/linien_anzeige.php?ID=10&Suche=Ja
If you can get the name of the station / Bus stop, you can see which bus number / S-Bahn number you should take in the following sites (journey planers):
http://www.bvg.de/index.php/en/Bvg/Detail/folder/706/rewindaction/Index/id/2898/name/Fare+zones
more info about tickets, cards etc. is here (Berin Public Transport official webs).

http://www.s-bahn-berlin.de/englisch/
http://www.berlin-tourist-information.de/english/berlin-infos/e_bi_stadtinfos_nahverkehr.php
Something you should know: The public transport in Berlin works together, that means: If you buy for example a day pass,it will be valid for the bus, underground (subway) and urban rail, you do not need to buy an extra pass for each.
