I have an old person in my care and want to get rid of it, Is Ebay the right option or would it be returned to me if they are not happy with it? What is the safest way to ensure it never comes back to me?

This old person, possibly a relative, is just taking up room in my house, it needs to go!

I find your question and the resulting answers deeply distressing. To refer to an old person as "it" speeks volumes as to your character. That "old person" is just that. A person who in your opinion has outlived their usefullness, and is now just cast aside like an old shoe. You should have more respect and gratitute for whatever role this person has made in your life. Old people deserve dignity and respect. With luck, you will be an old person someday too. How will you feel when someone wants to sell you on ebay. I won't be bidding, thats for damned sure! SHAME ON YOU AND THOSE OF YOU WHO ANSWERED FLIPANTLY

I have had the same problem with Vernon and believe me, it's a huge dilemna. If you drop them off and they don't have Alzheimer's, they show back up again, banging on your door.
What I did was take them to a State Fair and tell them that there was a prize for the person who walked the farthest from the parking lot.
Then I stuck that sucker in drive and headed for the exit. As luck would have it, a helpful Texas DPS Trooper found them and realized they were being left behind and used his radio to get me stopped at the gates. I had to pretend I had merely forgotten Vern, and he was soon back in my car.
I tried EBay and I used the 1 day buy it now feature and it worked! He is now happily testing medicines at some research lab in Wichita, Ks. The Center for Psychiatric Research pays for older people but, I've discovered they only buy living ones so get there soon.
Other people may have different suggestions, but this one worked for me.

then take the older person to a decent and caring place. by all means , you should not take care of no one and may be some day when you are just like the older person , then you will wind up with some one just like you. not giving or caring. all l can say is that this is a inhuman way you are behaving. and if this older person had it's right mind , then may be they would do all they can not to go back to you.

Well, every action has a reaction. You should better chose a mutual understanding way in between both of you. By sitting and talking to the person, you can do it better. Good luck!

I have an even better idea. Why not sell yourself on eBay? Then your elderly relative will have some money to enjoy without you around to abuse them.... But that assumes someone would pay good money for you, which they probably would not.....
