i'd consider ur suggestion.
but from past experience, history shows me
all political parties r full of bull!
they're all as bad as each other once they've won power, off they go changing, modifying & generally moving the goal posts; leaving us thinking
whatever happened 2 common-sense & the difference between right & wrong?

me, i'm not even gonna bother voting next time around.

I don't like tactical voting as it means that you're not voting for the candidate you want to represent you.

If however, the Tory say does get in with a percentage less than the votes of Labour, Lib Dem etc put together then it means that the person getting in has a very low mandate and would not be able to do much.

I'd prefer it if we had a proportional representation system of some description so tactical voting doesn't have to happen.

If you don't agree with tactical voting, then you're saying that you support a reform of the voting system. As long as you have a winner-takes-all system then there'll be tactical voting.

One way to eliminate it, whilst keeping the link between constituencies and their MPs, is to have an AV system where you rank the alternatives 1, 2, 3, etc. Then your vote gets transferred to your second preference if your first preference doesn't finish in the top 2.

When PR becomes the norm you will not be able vote tactically.
In May 2007 we in Scotland will have our Local elections taking place, in this manner.
Instead putting an X in box the of your choice, we will now have choose in numerical order each candidate. IE if there are 10 names on the ballot paper your preference will be No1, and so on.
It is called "Single Transferable Vote" or STV.

Yes but, no but....tactical voting, is one sure way of keeping out the force you oppose when there's little or no chance of your own being elected. It happens all the time. Pity there is so little evidence of it in Parliament. If it were so, then half of the 600 criminal laws passed may not have reached the statute books.

particular actually. the 1st previous the submit device HAS to circulate right this moment. purely the Lib Dems recommend it, so we want as many Lib Dem MPs as obtainable. for sure in Lib Dem seats, vote Lib Dem returned, they in fact stand to hold all their seats, or a minimum of make an significant internet earnings whether they lose a pair. once you're a organic Labour voter, you're no longer likely to be ready to balloting Tory, you're too some distance removed from them ideologically (and that they desire to hold and rig FPTP). once you're a Labour voter, you will have not any doubt seen the potential of them dropping on your constituency and nationally. in case you're no longer likely to have a Labour MP, i'm helpful you're able to desire to settle for defeating the Tory. If Labour are languishing third the place you reside, or 2d yet possibly to be third based on the Lib Dem leap, then why waste a vote on somebody to come again third? greater powerful to settle for beating the Tory, by skill of balloting Lib Dem. in case you reside in a right this moment 2 way Con/Lib seat, then balloting Lib Dem is pointless and shall we the Tories in. a minimum of Labour are part of the innovative caucus, and greater possibly to yield to PR, extraordinarily on account that they presented it for many of different elections like London, Europe, Scotland, Wales and NI elections, and recommend AV for Westminster. do no longer bypass up the possibility to stress electoral reform or you won't get the possibility returned for an somewhat long term. The Lib Dem thought on an immigration amnesty is easy experience, and not pandering to the splendid wing press like the different 2 are. Get actual. Get a grip. the assumption of an amnesty is to confess that issues interior the previous have not labored (regularly because of the fact the Tories stopped counting human beings out and in), and attracts a line below it and creates a clean beginning element. somebody could could desire to have a provable record of living right here for 10 years to be eligible. truly it extremely is not THAT a lot diverse to the present day 14 12 months coverage.

Yes. That's the way it works. If you can't vote FOR someone, then chose the lesser of two evils and vote against. Either way, use your vote.
