Personal ethics involve the values you live by when you're with your family and friends.
Professional ethics include the regulations of your chosen profession, the ethics outlined by the company you work for, informal etiquite within your industry, and informal social norms imposed on professions.
In the US, Corporations are finding themselves with a growing number of ethical requirements that must be formalized and evaluated, especially with financial transactions and in their handling of environmental issues.

Good comments from previous posts - "there is no difference" & "personal ethics involve the values you live by" and soem cynical input the other posts.
If a personal have true core values and character in thier life (personal ethics), ethics will be present in both the personal and professional lives - hence 'no differnce'.
Some comeent that professional ethics are imposed by corporations, yes companies and governement set guidelines for conducting business and we as professional must meet the guidelines. But when I think of professional ethics, I look to the business character of the person I am dealing with. And in alsomost all cases that person who has the professional ethics I am looking to work with also have the personal ethics at the core.

personal ethics, are your opinions and feelings that help you decide whatis right and wrong.
Professional ethics is just a bunch of BS that companies change whenever they wanna sell something to a market of their choice.
