Does anybody think that it is a plot to brainwash everybody into a certain mode of thinking and acting and therefore change the culture?
Who do you think is behind it?
Seriously speaking here.

I think it's a means of generating more money for the channel that shows it. Channel 4 gets its revenue from all the phone votes, as it's a premium rate phone line. As for being told how to think & act, that's down to the contestants, & if you're influenced by their behaviour, it's nothing to do with the organisers.

I find those things (reality shows) boring....and the worst part of it is...they think we're so dense to believe that they don't act a "certain" way for the cameras?...

I mean c'mon they put these people in front of a camera crew and say this is how so & so (mainly a bunch of celebrities or wanna be stars) live in real life, but they're gonna be on tv .
No ones going to walk around their houses or where ever and act normal and do everyday stuff in front of a bunch of cameras.

Besides why do I wanna watch what goes on in Brittany & kfed, Nick & Jessica or Ozzy & family & so on & so on's ...lives when, hell, I have enough to worry about in my own life...It's just lining their pockets even more for us to watch them ACT like they are being real people. what makes their lives any more interesting than anyone elses?...and who really cares how they live. They're just flaunting their fortunes on tv so they can make more money off of us "ordinary" people who do actually have real lives. (ok umm most of us have real lives) except those living thru those reality shows. (no offense to anyone)

They can label it "Reality" as much as they want, it's all still acting to me. (and badly at that)

No, it's just cheap tv aimed at making a fortune for the tv companies, through the members of the public who are stupid enough to ring premium rate phone lines to vote. When the first one was successful, the other broadcasters saw the potential and simply made their own version.
