Why do boys like you can't spell Physics right?

2007-01-19 21:05:38 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

Boys tend to understand step by step procedure better than girls. Math and Sciences like Chemistry and Physics contain step by step procedure. .

Girls then to understand sublimized messages faster than boys. Thats why girls are better at English or Reading.

Sometimes in reading the author would say something like "He jumped over the fence and they never saw the light again."
Girls would understand that the author means that the guys are dead.

Guys would think they literally jumped over the fense and they got struck in the eyes by something so they were blind or something.

I think this also has to do with the fact that boys are given plastic wrenches and building blocks to play with when they were little and girls are given barbie doll houses and books about barbie dolls etc.

Why Malaysian Government insists on using English for math and science? This is because the whole world uses the language as an information and/or technology language. How dangerous it will be if we try to use Bahasa, especially in school. See example below:- Hardware = barangkeras Software = baranglembut Joystick = batang gembira Plug and Play = cucuk dan main Port = lubang Server = pelayan Client = pelanggan Try to translate this: ENGLISH: That server gives a plug and play service to the client using either hardware or software joystick. The joystick goes into the port of the client. Now in BAHASA: Pelayan itu memberi pelanggannya layanan cucuk dan main dengan menggunakan batang gembira jenis keras atau lembut. Batang gembira itu akan dimasukkan ke dalam lubang pelanggan. Now you know...WHY...

culture.. afraid of it.. conditioned to be stupid - to think things are difficult when really they aren't. programming has an immense effect on people... the average 12yr old could understand physics/calc if they had a decent teacher.
it's kinda like why boys dont become nurses, or secretarys.. just programmed to think in other directions. you'll find that in asian countries girls do a bit better in math & physics... though there's still a slight cultural fixation against it --- boys are often conditioned to be much more pragmatic.. most of it i think is programming. --- a culture that accepts illogical hormones/girls stupidity.. guys pride themselves on being rational - makes a distance.

Until recently, it was believed that male-female differences in math and science were caused by biology. In other words, girls' and boys' brains are different, so they are better suited for different things. The notion is that boys have superior spatial abilities, making them better suited for certain mathematical manipulations. Girls, on the other hand, are supposed to be better at language and writing. Evidence shows that boys do excel in math, and girls appear to do better in verbal-related skills. But are these differences a result of biology, or do other factors play a role?

More recently, researchers have focused on the influence of the social environment on children's math and science achievement. Very early on, boys are given the chance to tinker with toys or objects (for example, building blocks, Legos, racing cars, and simple machines) that involve many of the principles inherent in math and science. Girls often lack these experiences, so they enter math and science classrooms feeling insecure about their abilities. Girls then begin to believe they cannot do math and science as well as boys. This belief is consistent with a stereotype in our culture that defines math and science as male domains. That is, males are better suited for math and science, and math and science are more useful to males than to females. Also, personality traits attributed to mathematicians and scientists are associated more with males. Mathematicians and scientists are often thought to be competitive, achievement-oriented, and not very social.

Parents, teachers, or school counselors who believe these stereotypes are less likely to encourage or support a young girl's decisions to take math and science in high school and beyond. It has been found that when parents believe boys are better at math than girls, they are willing to let their daughters drop out of math class when the going gets tough. With sons, however, the same parents encourage persistence. In the classroom, teachers, often unaware of their own biases, call on boys more, praise boys more for correct answers, and are more likely to ask boys for help in science and math demonstrations. The message girls get is that they are not as good as boys.

you mean, "why can't girls learn maths or physics as well as boys?"

i think it's because of general interest.

Mm... that's a stereotype. I'm at the top of my class in Honors Science and Honors Math, and I just happen to be female.

Please don't label people, you overlook so many little details in them. Especially please don't criticize the skills of others when your grammar is in need of guidance, and you haven't met all of the people you purposely or inadvertantly insult.
