Ugh, that comment was awful wasn't it. I can see why you're ticked. Still I think what she says should be taken with a grain of salt. She doesn't make anybody but herself look bad by making those type of comments. The comment just makes her seem like a stupid and vapid person. Looks do fade but at the end of the day think of how a teacher contributes to our society versus how Linda Evangelista contributes to our society.

I think you're right-"u fail to realize that character plays the biggest part in what makes someone beautiful".Your anger is justified up to that part. But I think you were a bit mean-"Unfortunatly for u someday ur looks will fade & noone will want to take ur picture. As pathetic & sad as it is, u are someone that young girls look up to, & not all of them have the physical attributes to be a mindless model such as yourself. Perhaps before u open ur mouth and speak u should try & use that that thing between your ears called a brain or smile & keep ur mouth shut." So my real answer is.......your anger is justified. :D

One does not have to be beautiful to be a teacher. One is not required to adhere to social standards of beauty in order to pass along information, praise and/or nuture.
However, the role of the model requires that she be a physical 'spokesperson' for the product to which her appearance is being used. As such, her 'beauty' is, or can be, an important consideration for the client who hires her.
Saying (or implying) one does not have to be beautiful to be a teacher (as opposed to being a model) is simply stating facts. Perhaps what upset you was the fact that, as a model, Linda Evangelista is considered more socially important (since she is displayed more prominently and paid more money) than a teacher. It could also be that you took her 'second option' to be the lesser of two career choices.
Also, all famous people are asked just what it is they would be doing if they weren't being famous. This does not mean that their 'back-up' is necessarily a lower choice to them; it simply means that, given different opportunities, their life would be different. Her second choice of being a teacher, if she didn't have the opportunities presented to her because of her biological make-up, can actually be considered an inspiration, since it shows that teaching is something she considers important enough to consider as a profession.
Her poor ability to communicate her intentions appears to have brought about more unresolved issues with you than it does to be about her denigration of the teaching profession. Calling to task someone's character (saying they are 'ugly', 'pathetic', 'sad')based upon a supposed and inferred slight says more about the person making the accusation than the person making the original statement. It reflects badly upon someone, especially one who should know better that the way in which knowledge is passed onto others is as important as the knowledge itself.

Good on you I saw the newest post you had with her response trust me plastic surgery just makes people worse shell turn into a withered old bag who people probably don't like anyway when the cameras are off you on the other hand have the satisfaction to give children knowledge and point them in the right direction more than she could ever accomplish in her life, a model is merely the equivalent of a clothes hanger plain and useless, you give people the gift of intelligence something she doesn't even have

Here's my honest opinion: It is very possible that she meant no offense by her comment, and may have meant that if she had not been beautiful ENOUGH to be a model that her second choice of career would have been as an educator. If viewed this way, the comment could easily have been her way of complimenting the teaching profession. She may have had no idea that she was saying it in a way that might offend people.

hey, come on. you're right to be a tad annoyed or even offended, but not angry. the comment was not personal and it was unfortunate-im sure she was sorry the moment she said it.
the question i would ask is why did you take so personally as to get this angry? teachers are like other people: nice, not nice, ungly, beautiful, shortm, thin, fat, with glasses, with families, no families, etc.
and, to remind you gently, that not all models/ actors are mindless. just as not all teachers look out for the kids best interests.
we are human, we make mistakes, we feel sorry and try not to make them again-abd that's the best we can do.

I feel you both played eachother. Guy had girlfriend and played new girl. New girl may have noticed how nice Guy is and took advantage OR and MORE LIKELY she figured out you had a girlfriend and quit you. Any respectable woman should have returned any received gifts if only to save her own grace. "Can guy get mad & mean if HE HAD A GIRLFRIEND???" Absolutely NOT!! It is never ok to get mean or vengful. If you are the girl in the situation and the Guy gets mean call the police IMMEDIATELY! Never give a person with that attitude a chance to hurt you! If you are the "Guy" in the situation- why would you ask such a question- you got busted. Deal with it! Be the man that you acted like you were...kind and generous.

More important to be a good teacher, I had some really bad examples of teachers growing up, I was not an easy student to teach, I had a Hyper-active problem as a child, and A.D.D. they did'nt really know about that back then, I had two male teachers try and beat me up in a bathroom in High school once, I took great pleasure in beating the SH-T out of both of them at once, I alsl had a Science teacher who would notice me in the corner of the room not saying anything and Failing, she stayed after school with me every day to make sure that I learned it, she put her life on "HOLD" for me to learn, she was amazed at my working knowlage of science, and my ability to apply it, she loved the working models that I built to show the example to the class, she went to the principle and said "I think we have something mislabeled here with this kid" the school just laughed and said "He's Hopeless", she said "Well "Hopeless just built a working hydro-electric plant that works off a kitchen sink", she did'nt accept that answer they gave her, and continued working with me, she convinced the school to have me evaluated, so they sent me to the So. shore learning center, where a battery of tests were done on me, It turned out that at 12 I could read as fast as an adult, and understand more, my attempts at problem solving were backwards but, the end result was the same "CORRECT" ! They said that I just had a different way of learning than most children, I still have it, I was in a boating class making knots, and they said that "He makes them backwards but, the results are the same". That Science teacher NEVER GAVE UP ON ME ! I went on to college to be an "Honor Student", I still send her candy every Valentines day to thank her ! SHE'S THE ONE THAT MADE ALL OF THE DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE, taught me to NEVER give up !

Since she is a public figure, it is okay for a fan to react to her however they want and they can say whatever they want to her as long as they are not threatening her.
I think she touched a nerve for you by saying what she did, however she might have not meant it how you took it. She might have simply meant that she does truly desire to be a teacher, but because she feels her looks made it her destiny to be a model (to use God's gifts that He gave her) then she is going to model. She probably did not mean to imply that teachers are not attractive... a public figure probably wouldn't openly admit to thinking that and she made a big mistake by accidently implying it!
Her statement in itself sounds like she is justifying her career choice by thinking God wants her to do what she does and it probably helps her get through the days by giving her some sort of feeling of being connected to destiny and God's plans... whether or not God really wants her to be a model is not for me to say...
I say let her think whatever she wants, lol. But anyways, it is okay that you got mad because she struck a nerve. Just be aware that she might have not have meant it as badly as it sounded!

why should they keep their mouths shut, when with their statement let majority get to laugh at them and think what little brains they really do have. it's sad that beauty is slated above all else. there is so much to being a good teacher it's an art and it's not meant for everyone.
