I was wondering, which would be better for me to get,
I could roughly get a 30GB MP3 player for the same price as a 2-4GB MP4 player,
which would be best as I'm no sure how much I can actually hold on an MP4 player with just 4GB

4 GB = 4 GB. It's not "4 MP4 gigabytes".

The MP4 player will probably support video (MP4 is a video format)... I've never heard of a strictly MP4 player before, though...

Anyway, take the 30 GB player... Since you didn't name it, I can't give you any feedback on its quality, but 30 GB is FAR better than 4 GB if you care about listening to music.

Just a sidenote: There's a good possibility the 30 gig player will support photos and movies (just read the features for it on the site). And no video is 180 GB on an iPod -_-.

It depends on the type of media you want to carry around with you. If you want movies and songs, I'd have the 30GB. But to tell you the truth, if they are the same price, I'd have the 30GB anyway.

not that much, but then do you want to listen to music or watch video?

movies usually take up 700 MB, but when converted fro an ipod they take up around 180 GB as the display resolution is much smaller than a conventional TV.
