if we know that something could make us sick or even kill us then why in the world would we do it?

(2 examples are smoking amd bungie jumping)

I smoke but i have no idea why I know the risks!

I have no idea why people smoke or take drugs. Bungie jumping well I guess that's for the thrill.

Bungie jumping can be quite safe provided the rope isn't too long for the jump.

I don't know. I used to smoke and I always thought I would be ok because I will quit before I get lung cancer. For some I guess the threat of disease or death just isn't enough of a deterrent!

Smoking can come from being around other people who do.... so we follow suit, then it become a habit - dangerous things like bungee jumping we do for the thrill and excitement.......

thats a really good question, i still havent found the answer for that and ive done a lot of things that couldve made me really sick or just killed me instantly. maybe its just to try it?

Maybe temptation, for certain things.
Being a daredevil.
Being young and stupid.
