I am not going to pick sides between rep. and Dem. but over all is it ever going to be possible to have a politician we can fully trust whether it be dem or rep.? If not, what do you think it will take to do so?

George Carlin once said words to the effect that "a population of spoiled stupid self-absorbed A holes can expect to have spoiled stupid self absorbed A holes representing them. "
I agree to some extent.
The problem isn't the spoiled stupid selfish A holes that we elect. It's the REALLY STUPID ones that we don't elect. You can't vote the AEI, Heritage Foundation, etc out of office because we never voted them into office. These are think tanks that are supported by the elite, that have offices walking distance to the White House and Congress and that push forward corrupt policies with a history of failure.
Iraq, and the crime-ridden Katrina aftermath are two examples of what the AEI, Heritage Foundation, and Americans for Tax Reform all believe in. Pay off politicians, loot the Treasury and let ordinary people go to Hell.
Get rid or limit groups like this and the situation will improve!

You've seen more Pro-American legislation passed in the shortest time frame under the current Congress. While the House is passing laws, the Senate is engaged with oversight. Our system is running pretty smoothly at this juncture. Resident Chimpy wanted a game of Chess and right now he's in Check with only pawns left to defend him.

I'm thinking it's an absolutely incredible whirlwind of positive action. You can actually sit in front of the t.v. and enjoy our legislators at work instead of wanting to put your foot through the screen.

Hello,

Thomas J is correct.

I am not really sure how much our votes have ever counted though. I personally think the secret societies in America decide who is actually voted into office. I mean Congress and the House and our Commander in Chief.

For the 2008 election, I am scared to death of what or who I am going to vote for.

I live in California, on the Left Coast, and when it came down to Arnold or Angelides, I had to vote for Arnold.

Now, I feel like I was physically violated.

I know I will pay dearly for that vote.

I am looking at all the presidental prospectives right now and just do not know what to do...

Hope this helps you................ : - O

take away the two party system. independent politicians won't have to worry about party loyalty, and they can truly concentrate on the issues at hand. however, natural progression of things and human nature will never be able to dictate such a thing. some politicians truly are reliable, but at the end of the day being a politician is still a job, that is their livelihood, and you don't mess with a man's livelihood. a politician will inevitably do what it takes to keep his livelihood.

It is very difficult when we have "the best politicians money can buy." As long as we allow big money to wash over politicians without check, there will always be a problem. We have to make the politicians change the laws they wrote that allows this to happen. Otherwise, it is very difficult to change. Some are more honest than others though.

Our original politicians worked for free and their appointments into office were very short so they could get back to their normal jobs and lives.

I think if we returned to non-professional politicians we might see a decrease in crooked politicians or people who want to be politicians so they can become rich.

Trust know one. Support Multipartisan politics. Bipartisan politics is like a very dramatic gameshow in which no one really wins & the losers are usually the constituents.

There probably are a handful of honest ones, but they have a really hard time getting elected because the New World Order...The secret government....the elite ones, who really run everything because they have gotten control of almost all of the money!!!!....These people won't let the honest ones get elected, because they can't control the honest ones!!!!!!!

No. Never trust them and always hold them accountable when they break promises. We hold everyone else accountable.
