If you mean that the baby is rejecting the bottle and/or breast, there may be other issues as well. My youngest had acid reflux, and after only a few mouthfuls of breastmilk - whether from the breast or bottle - he'd turn away. And then cry because he was hungry.
You need to get the pediatrician involved, watch for signs of dehydration, and get frequent weight checks. If the baby is not progressing, and not taking formula or breastmilk, ask for a referral to a pediatric gastroenterologist.
Good luck, and God bless you both.

One month old is NOT old enough to accept food. Only breastmilk or formula. Their digestive systems are NOT mature at this stage and feeding anything but the above can cause all kinds of problems in their digestive development. Consult your pediatrician right away for further advice. I was a medical assistant for a year in a pediatric unit (i actually got to work for my doctor who delivered my son!!! it was cool). I know a lot of old school docs and folks say "put a little baby cereal in his formula and he'll sleep thru the night." Not good advice. Good luck

Babies should not be eating solids until they are 6 months old.
The reason is their kidneys are not ready for the soild food, this could cause problems for the baby later in life.
Your baby should be on milk feeds only.
If you do not know this you need to get some parenting advice from a professional ASAP.
All the best

I would not offer food yet unless your MD says so. The American Academy of Pediatrics says that babies only need breast milk or formula for the first 6 months.
Call 314-454-KIDs if you have cell phone minutes (CST) 8 am
there you can talk to an RN and get advice too, but unless your doctor says so, I would stick to formula or mom's milk. Feeding babies early has been linked to diabetes and allergies.

When you left the hospital they should have told you what to give you baby or didn't you see what they gave your child. A lot of times Hospitals give Enfamil with iron unless baby can't handle the iron but regardless formula is give by it self until about 4 to 5 months then the baby start rice stage one gerber or beechnut cereals. It dangerous to give baby food at one month you should really consult the pediatrician.

A one-month-old baby should only be getting breast milk or formula. Food shouldn't even be a consideration for months yet.

By you saying "food" you do mean just milk don't you??!! You know they should just be having milk for at least the next 4 months. If they aren't interesting in their feeds then nip to the Doctor.

By food do mean breast milk or formula , as thats all your little bub should be having at this age. Food other than that will cause major tummy pains and upsets.
