infra red:infrared (IR) radiation is electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength longer than that of visible light, but shorter than that of radio waves. The name means "below red" (from the Latin infra, "below"), red being the color of visible light of longest wavelength. Infrared radiation spans three orders of magnitude and has wavelengths between approximately 750 nm and 1 mm.

It is now used in various mobile phones to communicate.But it is very slow to transfer large data files like music.
In order to get music from your pc, first connect an infra red adapter to your pc and switch infra red on on your phone.The pc and the phone will connect or pair each other and then y can transfer music.
But if you want to transfer music from another mobile phone to yours, then switch both phone's infra red signal on and touch each others IrDA connector port [make sure the IrDA port of each devices are just facing to each other] then the two devices will pair themselves and now y can be able to transfer music.

Your mobile and your computer both need to have infra red communication capability. Infra red dongle is available for the computer and is pretty cheap. Both the devises need to be within line of sight and there should be no obstacle between them. Its a slightly older method of data transfer. Bluetooth is more reliable and a preferred method of communication between two devises such as a computer and a mobile phone.
