I have a rash, but not any of the ones I have read about concerning pregnancy. It's red and dry, but not blistering, no bumps. It's on the back of both hands and both hands are a little swollen. I am not swollen anywhere else and have no other strange symptoms. Has this happened to anyone? Could it be related to the pregnancy (35 weeks along)? What is it?

My wife had the same symptoms. She was 25 weeks when she had redness on her hands and between the fingers, and it burned a little. What she did was put lotion when she woke up and b4 she went to bed, as well as some calamine lotion in the middle of the day.

But if it is itching, red, and weeping...it might be an allergy. If so, you might want to see a doctor.

It sounds like eczema to me. It could be caused by a food allergy, or possibly a new hand lotion or soap. Pregnancy could make your skin a little more sensitive. If you have any Aquaphor or petroleum jelly around, you can put some of that on it to keep it moist and protect it from the elements.

You may have contact dermatitis- or ??? make sure you have no lotion or creams or anything on your hands- and any food or plant allergies??? wash w a mild soap and rinse well- pat dry - you may put on calamine lotion- or w this winter weather and heat- is could be as simple as extra dryness- I doubt if it is pregnancy- if it gets worse or weeps- call md- to be on the safe side-D

maybe you are now allergic to something, like a certain kind of cloth or something that touched you there... your body is changing so much right now.. that is very possible
