Real high school is not like it is on TV. In the USA, real high schools have real teenagers in them; on TV high schools, all the "students' are played by actors in their 20's or even early 30's. James Van der Beek was actually BALDING while he was playing Dawson on "Dawson's Creek!"

Pretty much, only with slightly less average daily drama and much more work. And they usually leave out the students who can't read or do basic algebra in their senior year. And none of the teachers ever come to class drunk or stoned. Did you know I had to teach myself to touch type?

Oh god no. I don't know what kind of high schools they show on TV, but they certainly aren't anything like the ones I went to.

there are a few things which remind me of my high school days but most situations are exaggerated for whatever reason the episode is about.
