What country are you from. In Almost all Develop nation, It is unnecessary, since their population is collapsing. THe US is the only major Developed country that isn't. To control the US population, all we need to do is stop immigrants from coming in. We are breeding between 2.1 to 1.9 children per couple. We need 2.1 to keep a stable population. Immigration and longer life span is what causing the increase in US population. To stop the third world, the develop world should increase aid in birth control. It is in our best interest since if the underdevelop population grows they use up more resources that could be used to keep are lifestyle high. Other things many might consider cruel. Like reducing medical help, do not interfer with war and stop exporting food. Sometimes harsh treatment is necessary to force third world country to be more respnsible. None of the last three is an active means to reduce their population, but not to provide these countries a crutch.

Building more housing
Letting farmers grow as much food as they are capable of
Building more schools
Providing national healthcare
Finding more alternatives to gasoline for cars
Finding alternatives to cutting down trees for lumber and paper
Hiring more police and firefighters
Building more hospitals and mental health care centers
Finding ways to get every state enough water

Stop the dam war, stop building jails and build more hospitals, make sure that we feed the hungry in our country before sending care packages to every other country in creation, make sure no one is forced to be homeless.

Our tax dollars are used for a lot of dumb things--the things that I've listed above would be of a lot more benefit to "we the people"

educating the masses about the harms of the population growth. i feel illetracy is the root for population growth.people feel more hands for work means more income but the don't think more hands mean more mouths to feed. our government also plys an important role. i wish our government could be more active towards this issue.
