let us pick 1 billion cool people, who would not use their autos, no heating or cooling, and will stay at home for a 2 weeks an year. This can work wonder... 0.5% less heat load is all it needed to stop it ... when done now

look. scientifically we know the temperature's rising. we don't know exactly why. just like ice ages comes in cycles so may heat ages? we just don't know. man hasn't been on this earth long enough.

theories about global warming causing damage are starting to prove less and less. case in point - the ozone hole in the antarctic is getting smaller (AP science news, circa DEC 2005). why is there global warming still? the theory was that the hole meant the ozone layer is getting weaker, therefore more sunrays are getting through, thus heating the earth. so therefore, if the hole gets smaller, it should mean the ozone layer is geting stronger and block sunrays. but yet earth is getting hotter....

also, sea levels rising doesn't cause more cyclones. wind and airflow does. is there a direct link between global warming and air flow changing? the only thing one can surmise is that ice is metling because of higher temps and higher temps may cause more evaporation only to come back down as more and heavier precipitation. ie more rain.

therefore, we cannot fix what we don't know is broken.

The time of the dinosaurs were what is considered to be a "hot house" climate at approx. 120F or 49C

The permian extinction was caused due to a global cooldown, 95% of all life died out.

The Wisconsian Ice Ace where mile thick ice sheets covered parts of the northern hemisphere

History of a regressing and transgressing sealevel, all evidence of a cool down and a warming period for the earth.

The Earth that we live on is DYNAMIC

That means it is constantly undergoing changes. Any Paleoclimatologist will tell you that.

Yes, we need to conserve, for our own survival, but the Earth will survive with or without mankind.

Global warming can be reduced by reducing harmful gases like Chloro Floro Carbons and Carbondioxide. And one thing, the present situations are more than naturality. We should be alarmed and grow greenness in our surroundings and use pollution creating vehicles as less as possible(electrical or hydrogen vehicles are better). Otherwise the sea levels will increase more and the coastal areas would submerge.

It's a natural process. It'll go right back to cooling off again soon. The sun is going through a phase of increased activity. This has happened since the beginning of time.

By the way the polar ice caps on Mars are receding as well. It's the Sun. Totally natural.

i think the present situation threatens us to go back to our stone age to overcome our natural global warm(n)ing.....that is to the world where no usage of artificially made things, depending only on the naturally available resources inorder to fulfil our needs....

i think, if it is even not possible today, i suppose in the future, one country may make this as a law......this day is nearing very fast......this could be even averted from now, when,we the residents of this beautiful planet in the solar system, know our responsibility in saving our planet...
i can give u in short about the ways of controlling...G.W.
FIRST, there shouldnt be any usage of petrol and petroleum products at any fields.
SECOND,no trees should be cutted down at any cost...
THIRD,no excessive use of poisonous gases evolving substances in any of our work...e.g.fertilizers,insecticides etc..
FOURTH, vehicles should be made to use with petrol or diesel....it must be made using mechanically and should be operated through manually like pedalling just like in the cycle...
FIFTH,usage of plastics should be strictly prohibited

if these things are going to be possible, we can still prevent our wonder full,god-gifted EARTH,from this threat ,for sure....

every thing rests only in our hands........

Since it's a natural cycle caused by the sun.. I guess we could build a giant umbrella to block out all the suns energy. Other than that we're just going to have to deal with it..

And remember that global warming is not universally bad.. in fact historically it's been of benefit to mankind.

in some countries we burn coal to make electricity for us to use for our t.v's etc, when burning the coal it lets off carbon dioxide which is bad for our environment and our ozone layer and making the earth hotter and causing more problems. Try to use eco friendly things and try not to use a lot of electricity if your region burns coal for electricity/energy. Also support nuclear plants as an alternative electricity/energy source, its cleaner than burning coal and better for our environment.

GLOBAL WARMING IS CAUSED DUE TO THE USE OF HARMFUL GASES.....CHLORINE IS ONE OF THE IMPORTANT FACTOR..SO USAGE OF CHLORINE AT ANY COST MUST BE AVOIDED....AEROSOLS SHOULD BE AVOID ....THEY LEAD TO AIR POLLUTION...THE MAINTENANCE OF REFRIGERATORS AND AC IS MORE IMPORTANT AS THEY LEAD TO THE LEAKAGE OF HARMFUL CHEMICALS.....
RECYCLED PAPER CAN BE USED....USE OF COLD WATER INSTEAD OF HOT WATER WILL REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF ENERGY NEEDED...COMPOSTING WILL HELP TO DISPOSE THE BIO DEGRADABLE WASTES IN OUR HOUSE...
SO ALL THESE MEASURES CAN BE TAKEN UP....PEOPLE SHOULD BE EDUCATED ABOUT THIS....
