I have an recipe for homemade playdough...
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 cups water
2 Tbsp. cooking oil (I think vegetable or canola is best)
1 Tbsp. cream of tartar

Food coloring- if desired (I would definitely add this with the water; otherwise you end up with uneven color)

Combine all ingredients in a large pot and cook over medium heat until the mixture is spongy. Take off heat and let cool. You have to watch it carefully because it can burn easily. I usually stir continuously; it only takes about 5 minutes or so. Store it in a ziploc baggie or airtight container.

As for slime... I have a recipe for Gak (this may be what you are looking for)

8 oz Elmer's glue
2 Tbsp. Borax
8 oz. water
16 oz. hot water
food coloring -- if desired

Mix glue with the 8oz. of cool water. Add food coloring. In a separate container mix the hot water and Borax. Let cool. In a third bowl, combine 1/2 cup of the glue mixture and 2 Tbsp. of the Borax mixture. Mix only 1/2 cup at a time, until you have mixed it all together. It won't work if you mix it all at once.

I have not used this recipe, personally, but my daughter did with a friend (so I can't guarantee they followed the directions correctly). It turned out fine, though.

Hope these help!

I'm not sure about playdough or slime, but when I was younger, I loved cornflour and water.

Still do!
