Hi all, yesterday I've eaten something which eventually turned out to be not fresh, and I have experienced diarrhoea and abdominal pains (yesterday night, this morning it seems to get better). I just entered my 9th week, and I'm afraid of having transmitted any possible disease to the fetus. Beyond drinking lots of fluids, which I'm doing, is there any suggestion? Cheers

your baby is safe. the placenta works as a filter and will not allow such things to be transmitted which is how people with aids can give birth to healthy babies. i like that you are concerned though because it shows how great of a mother you ARE. congradulations and relax.... wont be long before you will be begging to have just a small bowl movement.

Seems like you have done the sensible stuff such as drinking plenty water etc. You AND your baby should be fine but you could call the out of hours service at your GP surgery or NHS helpline to reassure you.

You have food poisoning, which cannot be transmitted to your baby. Just keep the fluids up and take it easy.

If you have any other weird symptoms you should see your doctor, but it sounds like you are already on the mend.

You have food poisoning, not a disease. Call the nurse at your OB/GYN office if you feel concerned.

Dry toast helps as do banana, white rice, chicken.

Plenty of fluids and rest as well.
