Evidence suggests that the fetus undergoes two hormonal washes while in the uterus. One to give the baby the proper external genitalia as prescribed by genetics and the other to give the baby the proper internal gender through chemistry within the brain. When the first and second hormonal washes do not match up in the typical way, a "gay" person is created (typical way being male outside-male inside, female outside-female inside, and "gay" being male outside-female inside, female outside-male inside). WIth this theory that is popular within the field of Psychology, the person is born either gay or straight. This does contrast with the sexual orientation as a continuum theory though, and there is no proven theory as to how sexual orientation develops, thus far.

a few co-workers, on different shifts, were "changed". Maybe they always were leaning towards being gay, or bi, but they were straight. One lady had a husband in the military, kids, nice house, nice car, and she started hanging around a gay woman. Before long, they started going out, and then one day she left the husband for the gay woman. I had a beautiful looking supervisor, who i kinda lusted after (secretly). I never seen her get angry at anyone! She was that type of person. Well, she was married, had kids, etc. She started hanging around a gay member of management, and before long, they were lovers, she left her husband, etc. I also had a friend who suddenly turned bi. I think it was after she started playing tonsil-hockey with a girl at a party. Another friend of mine became a lesbian, after liking guys for a long time. I had several other male friends come out of the closet and admit they were gay. Perhaps in all those above situations, they were not secure with their sexuality to begin with.

I don't think someone can "turn gay," since one's sexual preference is pretty much biologically determined. However, someone who has repressed their sexual preferences (because they couldn't accept it themselves and/or they fear the reactions of others) may finally come out as they mature and have more experience. Also, though I have a strong heterosexual preference, I have friends who run the gamut from strongly heterosexual to strongly homosexual, and lots of people whose preferences are somewhere in between (bisexual, for example). In my discussions with them, almost all have told me that the hardest part was coming out to themselves, and that it was a process in dealing with all the negative stereotypes of being homosexual, including their own acculturated attitudes.

I have also been surprised a number of times in learning that some individuals I had known for a long time and had thought to be completely straight have revealed that they have had homosexual experiences. Though they have a heterosexual orirentation, they have nevertheless had homosexual experiences as well. And I know people who are gay who nonetheless occasionally have heterosexual encounters, though it is not their preference. I don't think sexuality is an either-or proposition for some people.

Probably not.

I believe as many do that sexual orientation is inborn.
I say "probably" because I also believe that sexual orientation is not necessarily black and white. Many people have a preference for one gender or anther but their are many shades of gray in this area as well. While this wouldn't REALLY be "turning" gay, I definitely think there are men who could have genuinely enjoyed a heterosexual relationship in the past and are currently enjoying a homosexual relationship.

I don't think so. I think if they were straight from the beginning they can't suddenly turn gay afterwards, unless they have been gay their whole lives but just never realised it before. That's my opinion.

You don't need a psychologist to answer this.

All human beings are by definition heterosexual (biologically). This is because nature designed us to procreate (produce babies) heterosexually, and nature gave us the proper equipment, hormones and life cycles to do so. There has never been born a human being who could reproduce homosexually.

That means that all homosexual activity is purely behavioral. It's the same as anything else humans do that would be against natural design. We have the freedom and luxury to behave as we wish; to call it "natural" is a lie. Nature intended nothing of the sort or else it would have equipped us accordingly.
