Excellent question and one I am eager to answer. I know that you want scientists to keep an eye out for chaotic severe weather that is not a part of the farmers almanac, weather such as tornadoes, severe thunderstorms with wind gusts and hail and lightening, or ice storms, such as the west is having this winter, or hurricanes that could strike without your ever knowing it if you lived along the coast and there were no meteorologists to watch the oceans with satellites and radars. These I believe are just a few reasons. You could also talk with pilots who carry thousands of people around the world each day and are concerned about turbulence, thunderstorms, visibility and winds at their destinations, and icing problems on the wings of the aircraft. I believe I could go on but you are probably getting the picture. You see unfortunately, the Farmers Almanac does not provide any information or forecasts of these phenomena by which we could really test its accuracy.

Because the farmers almanac doesn't give 100% accurate predictions. Weather could change by minute, so we still need a meteorologist to use the modern technologies to do the weather forecast.
