how many piercings should a 16 year old have and where? how bout a 21 year old? how many do you have? answer any or all of these please

I don't think a 16 year old should have many at all. Just in the ears in a few places. A 21 year old can have pretty much whatever they want. They are adults and they can do whatever. I am 19. I've had my tongue pierced, my rook pierced, and several more in my ears. I got tired of the tongue piercing. I wouldn't suggest that one.

At 16 parents still have a say in what the child can have pierced or not. I had my ears (3 on each) when I was 16, and that's probably all you should have when you are a minor. I'm 21 now and have my librae (middle of lip), nose and 3 in each ear. I have had my lip pierced for 4 years, and my nose for 2, and I love them!

Also, to some peoples answers below...facial piercings don't always leave huge scars like you think. And if you are trying to get a job somewhere you can always take the piercing out during the day, and nobody would even know you had one. That's what I did and I have a great job.

Hm at 16..well I guess it depends on how many the parent will allow. At 21, as many as they want. I have 8 at the moment, 4 in left ear, 3 in right, and a nose ring. But I soon plan on getting many more. I love piercings. I also think that the amount of piercings one gets is completely personal.

I'm not a fan of piercings until you're 18 (unless your parents approve). I waited until 18 to get any other piercings than my regular lobes. From the ages of 18-22 I had 10 piercings in different locations and loved them all to a varying degree. However, I was mature enough (and smart enough) to go to a professional piercer and I took care of all my piercings. Besides my orbital, none of them got infected and I have minimal scarring (noone can even see the scars unless I point them out).

When I have children, our house rule will be no "extra" piercings until 16 and only then can they go with me to a professional piercer to get one piercing per year. After they are 18, they can go to town. However, I also plan to make sure they understand the dangers of going to a mall piercer. That way, when they're 18 they won't go cheap and hepatitis.

I am sixteen, and i have my ears, belly button and tongue pierced. I think ears are limitless, most of my friends hav atleast three, i would have more but i never seem to wear earings.

I think most the facial (lip, chin, eyebrow) are too noticable, and i don't particularly like them. Eyebrows look nice on guys.

My best friend is 16, and she has her lip, tonge and belly button. Personally i like all piercings that you can hide, because even though you shouldn't care what people think, having visable piercings can make people judge you very quickly, and that could mean that you don't get jobs etc.

I think surface piercings are nice, but probably too much hassle for a 16 year, otherwise i would get my wrist or hip done, but they don't last long either.

Just becareful, cos they do scar and can cause permenent damage.

Your parents let you get all of those piercings at such a young age? I say kids shouldn't get anything pierced except their ears until they are 18! Then after that if they want more holes in their head then go for it!

If i had a 16 yr. old, I would only let her do her ears, belly button, tongue. I'm 25 and I am soooooooo glad i never did anything on my face. That hole/scar will be there forever.

I would say no more than 4 on each ear. And definitely nothing on the face, you'll regret it when you're 30!! I have 2, belly button and ears =)
