I have to write a biography about an American president that had done something big with his presidential powers. It could be something bad or a good achievement. I'm trying to do Theodore, but is there a better president to choose??

Please help!!

Franklin Roosevelt would be my first choice because he really got the economy going during the Great Depression through a novel approach at the time: massive government intervention. FDR also led the US during World War II, the largest war in history, and the outcome of that war is still felt today in so many ways.

Theodore Roosevelt would be my second choice because he pushed for some restraints on big business (the oligarchic and monopolistic "trusts" and banks) and he established the national park system. Teddy Roosevelt had more mixed success with his goals, and so I would pick Franklin because his successes were more straightforward, and therefore, the discussion and conclusion parts of the paper would be easier to write. Good luck!

Well, you cannot go wrong with any of them. You might try an obscure President like Groover Cleveland because it would be nice learning about someone you never heard about. BUT, there is prolly not alot of information and their Presidency must have been uneventful if they are so unknown.

My favorite President was Ronald Reagen. He had a great Presidency. He was an actor turned politican, long before Arnold did it...lol. The space shuttle took flight during his adminstration. There was the Iran-Contra affair. He was shot during his Precidency. And he was the President who saw the collapse of the USSR and communism in Eastern Europe. The Berlin wall came crashing down during those years. It was a very everntful time and he was a beloved President. So, write it for the gipper. =)

If you are going with a Roosevelt, I would do Franklin instead. He was elected during the depression and brought in many of the social welfare systems that we still have todoay. He was elected for 4 terms to be President. He was President during the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the start of WW2. He led a fantastic life and did more for this country than most Presidents.

During the great depression, the president at that time introduced "The New Deal". This played a major role in American politics and still has a significant effect on our lives today.

No President in US history has centralized more power to the executive office than our current President.

I'd also support Theodore's biography. A great guy by all means.
