how can bat avoid obstacles its path while flying in the dark at bullet speed?

They use echolocation, and their eyes! They emit sounds that then bounce off of objects and back to them so they know precise locations of prey items. Bats do not use sonar....that is when humans use equipment to detect objects, bats do not have little machines inside them. Sonar does work similarly to echolocation however.

Microbats use sonar to find their way and their food in the dark. The fruit bats use their sense of smell to find their food. Bats do not fly at bullet speed or anywhere near it.

echolocation, basically they hear sounds bouncing off of the things in front of them like we can judge how far a canyon wall is from us by the length of time it takes our shouts to come back to us, but bats do it a lot more efficient
