To me it is very true as Uncle Sam takes at least 1/4 of your paycheck every payday.

The real question is: does Uncle Sam take 1/4 of your paycheck, or just mine? Check your phrasing and stay away from second person tense when you really mean first person e.g. "me" "your."

I guess so. I cannot find the exact percentage the government takes out for taxes, but if I recall, it is more like 17 percent. Then you have state taxes also.
