Yes I do believe that they do. In the work place more hands make less work, it can also make people who might not in general get along find a common cause to blend. I've tried it and it works.
Being a Boss isn't always easy, and finding ways to help my employees work better together is always a plus and the "TEAM" idea does help.
It seems to work for the Colts- Payton is THE MAN that leads that team!!

Not all the time. sure, teamwork is a good value to have. it helps in a lot of sticky situations. it also improves one's social relationships by encouraging unity. also, there are times when a team opens up more possibilities due to the collection of different minds present.
however, sometimes, teams aren't what the situation calls for. there are times when the job isn't done quite as efficiently as expected because the team could not come to a compromise regarding a certain aspect of the task. since you're dealing with different people with different personalities, sometimes it's hard to establish harmony among the members. without harmony, work wouldn't be quite as efficient and effective.
also, sometimes there are tasks meant to be done alone. example, you wouldn't need a team of people to write a good essay about your personal opinion. there are times when individual work really shines. there are some cases wherein people have succeeded because of their individual efforts and intellects. although they maintain good rapport with others, they manage to get wonderful results by relying on their own efforts.

Depends on the members. In a team one emerges as a leader and typically, you have a thinker, a take-it-easy guy and a mix with different emotional baggage.
