They are a very legit and well established company that has been around a long time. I used to love ordering books from Scholastic when I was in grade school. I loved the catalogs and the books. They will honor their agreement, and send you the books that you order promptly. Try to get the books you want from your local or school library for free first, if you can. However, if they are brand new or hard to find books that your library can not get for you (from their own collection or on loan from another library), Scholastic is a good choice. So is amazon.com or a local bookstore. Your local bookstore will order anything you want for you; you can look at the Scholastic catalog and get the books you want from your local bookseller. Most of the time you have to pay ahead, however.

Scholastic is definitely a well-established and trustworthy company. If you have received order forms through school from Scholastic or Troll, you can be sure they will fill your order.

When I was in grade school, we had book orders from Scholastic every month. Mom always ordered me books, and they always arrived when expected. They are highly reputable.

I don't know who old you are, but I remember buying books from them when I was in elementary... They have been around for ages.
