Take a good degree in any discipline, preferably in Commerce or humanities or Literature, and then join a P.G . Degree or Diploma course in Journalism or Mass communication. You can also join the Film and Television Institute of India at Pune to become TV journalist .

It is essential that a base Bachelors degree is a prequalification before studying journalism and Mass communication. BA with political science will help.

if you end up at a newspaper, don't expect good pay. Copy editors and reporters don't get paid well at all.
