I have a pentium 3 in a netvista, and want to go to a pentium 4 1.4ghz. I just recently bought the ram to give me 512mb, and i would hate to have to re buy another set to be compatable with a pentium 4

As long as you have the same motherboard, and it supports the 1.4ghz CPU, then you do not have to change memory. The SPD on the motherboard should be set to AUTO in the BIOS, so that it matches the timing of your memory to the capabilities of the motherboard.

You don't mention if it's SD RAM, or DDR RAM. But if it's Pentium 3 you have SD RAM.

My suggestion, sell it and put some money and buy a new computer. On a long period you'll see that you'll spend much money on your old PC than buying a new one.
