I wont go into the details of how deploy the raft and get into it. But, the life-raft on my boat is inflated by a CO2 cartridge. The raft is in a case with a rip cord. Pull the cord and the CO2 cartridge is punctured and the raft inflates, zipping the case open and hopefully inflating upright in the water.
