you sound smart to me.....i also have never had fake nails and have no desire to.....1st off u can get nail funguses from salons that dont sterlize properly....and the fake nails will also ruin ur real nails.....so if you want nails just grow ur own thats whaat i do....much safer......i would be glad that i didnt want them if i were you!

That's okay. So you're scared. I don't blame you. I have had many different forms, tips, colors, acrylic, you name it I've probly wore it! (Nail wise any ways...) You are probly afraid that they will be painful or that you may get an infection, lose a nail, or that they won't come off, they'll look horrible at first or even as time goes while you are wearing them. Like with anything you haven't tried you may fear it. It is not that bad, though. If you find a nice place and you just happen to find a person who does a good job then they are worhth trying out. They do suck because prices vary and they don't always look like you want them to and they must be kept up and used with some caution so they do not get broken off. That may hurt too but no more that smashing a finger. When I see some one who has a set of beautiful nails I ask them where they got them done, who specifically did the job and how much! Then again, they are not for everyone. So don't feel pressured. If you do want nice nails just ask for a manicure. Those are awesome, too. Hope that helps...Toodles!

You do have to be careful for nail fungis...and go no where where they sand it with a machine. This over thins the nail. It should be done with a wooden nail file..on the light color..is enough to rougen the surface fro fake nails. If you get them and fungus occurs ...remove them with 100 acylin nail polish remover(best bought by a beauty store) to soak and remove them than soak infected nail with a little bleek. Wash well.

SOMEONE WHO FEELS THE SAME WAY I DO!!! I thought I was the only woman on the face of this earth who hated nails. I can't stand the feel of them growing much above the ends of my fingers. I had fake ones put on once for a special date....and I could not WAIT to get them off. I'm wicked proud of you.

I felt exactly the way that you did. Because of peer pressure I got them for prom and it really made my nails look bad. As I grew older I realized I could make my nails look just as nice and long, too. Personally, I think they are really damaging and you really don't need them. Also, it is costly to keep them maintained. You could always spend that money on something else worthwhile.

They are disgusting and horrible for your nails.
They file down your nails, sometimes cutting your cuticles and fingers in the proccess.
They pile chemicals onto your nails.
This is a BREEDING ground for infections.
Doesn't sound too pretty, does it?

I don't know why you don't like it but I LOVE it. It helps me not to bite at my nails/around my nails and its a way for me to relax.

You may be someone who likes natural things. It's a personal opinion. You don't have to get them if you don't want or just cuz ur 18 and HAVE to get it
