Put a little bit of white grape juice in her formula, it will do the trick, but just make sure that his/her doctor says it's ok. But what ever you do don't use Karo syrup, it can give your baby food poisoning.

Babies pear juice. Thats what my pediatrician ordered. You can either mix it with his/her formula or give it by itself as a lil snack or something ( 1 0z. though) 2 times a day no more than 3 oz a day and see how that does.My son was always constipated at 1.5 months and that helped. Also, if your baby is drinking 3,5,7 oz dont make that much....Make an even amount of ounces because doing half scoops isnt always accurate is what my doc said so make an even amount but still only let them drink their normal amount. If the pear juice doesnt seem to help ask your doc about the iron levels in the formula your baby may be getting too much iron

In the first month I would not add anything to the babies formula unless okayed by clinic or doctor. after 4 weeks you can safely add malt powder to the milk.it is a very gentle natural laxative. There are stool softening drops but generally they are not used unless it is seriously constipated. constipation really mans uncomfortable hard dry stools.it doesn't mean they havent had a poo today or yesterday.
NEVER DILUTE formula unless advice by the doctor to do so.a formula with less iron may help, but again get a dvice from the doctor first.

First of all it would depend on how old the baby you are talking about. Also if this is an over going problem I would talk to your Pediatrician sometimes there is a medical reason for there lack of bowel moments. Without knowing more I'm going to advise you to give his pediatrician a call. But I will tell you what I know and some things that you can do to help your little one.

*Breastfed babies tend to be more prone to constipation when solid foods are introduced than formula fed babies.
*Constipation is a stool firmer than peanut butter.
*It is almost impossible for an exclusively breastfed baby to be constipated because breast milk is more easily digested
*If you are worried due to a new born straining and grunting during a bowel movement, this is normal. It doesn't mean baby is constipated.
*You should contact your pediatrician if the baby is less than a month old and hasn't gone for 4 days
*Bottlefed babies frequently suffer from constipation because formula milk is harder for a baby to digest.

Rice cereal (as well as bananas and applesauce, for future reference) all tend to make baby have firmer stools. Carrots and squash are constipating for some babies. Pears, peaches, plums, apricots, peas and prunes have a laxative effect. Apple or prune juice can be used as a mild laxative for baby. Prunes always worked wonders for my oldest son. (and still do--he's 3 now--unfortunately, he's very regular but often likes to snack on prunes!! LOL) So you might try balancing his diet with foods that make firmer stools and foods that make looser stools.

Some doctors suggest one teaspoon of light Karo syrup in 4 ounces of water. Although use caution as The American Academy of Pediatrics warns that due to the potential theoretical risk of botulinum contamination babies should also not be given corn syrup that has not been pasteurized (sterilized) or declared "botulism spore free".

Some things you can do to help:
*Some medical professionals suggest giving your constipated baby a warm bath. *Gently massage and rub baby's tummy in a clockwise direction.
*Move baby's legs as if he is riding a bicycle.
*get formula with less iron as too much iron can cause constipation
*If baby is over 6 months give him some diluted prune, pear or apple juice.

Do Not:
*Give your baby water if he is not yet on solids, Babies get all the water they need from breastmilk or properly prepared formula.
*Use suppositories, mineral oil or laxatives. Your baby can become dependant on these.
*Give a baby under 6 months of age juice or solids (anything other that breastmilk or formula is considered solids including infant cereal and stage 1 baby food)

I hope this helps and I hope your little one is feeling better soon.

Why don't you try give your baby "baby pear juice" it will help. I did that with my baby, You can find it in any grocery store where baby's foods and drinks are. But don't put it in formula just give juice it self not too much, about 1 oz or half oz in the bottle. But if that don't help than see the baby's doctor and he can tell you what should you do.

You may have to switch to Iron free Baby Formula, to much iron usually causes what you're talking about. Talk to a doctor.

My little one had the same problem and a friend recommended something called colic calm-you buy it online. I checked it out with my pediatrician and he ok'ed it. AMAZING STUFF! www.coliccalm.com. It is basically and all natural gripe water with a tiny bit of pharmacutical grade charcoal in it that helps with gas and constipation. Our little one stopped fussing and crying almost immediately after giving it to her. Hope this helps-good luck! I know it is no fun.

That depends on how old your baby is. If they're under 6 months old, they shouldn't have juice, solids, or excess water. I would call your pediatrician to see what they recommend.
