STEP 1) Go to Azureus, uTorrent, or BitComet to download and install the bt software. You only need one of them and I use Azureus because it's the fastest for me. After you've installed it start it up and it's going to ask configuration. For a beginner just leave them as default. Although you should specify the downoad location of each file

STEP 2)Go to the top torrent sites like torrentspy, demonoid, the piratebay, isohunt, and mininova and find the file you want. Make sure it has atleast 1 seeder. The more the better although you generally don't want too much peers over seeders. Click download to download the bt extention. Double click the file and your bt download manager should open with a confirmation box to download your specified file. Change the settings you need, and leave the rest default. Click ok, or start, and the download should begin. Bit torrent downloads start very slow (2-10kb/s) but gets to average(40-100kb/s) in a few minutes. Make sure you have no firewall between you and your internet. If you use a router google "how to open ports" to avoid NAT problems

Hope this helps

First you need a client. i would recommend Utorrent, as it is a small file and is better than the competition. You can then take the extra step and forward a port, but the process varies from router to router. This is not necessary, but your speeds will gain a boost if you do.

Secondly, you need the torrent file. You can get these from many sites, namely www.mininova.org, but becareful as a lot of the stuff hosted is copyrighted. However, with the site like www.bittorrent.com , there you dont have to worry about that as all the things there are legal for download. Before you download the torrent file, you should look at 2 things. The number of "seeds", and the number of "leechers" or "peers". Seeds are people who have the full file and are distrbuting them out to everyone. Leechers, or peers are other people who are downloading and sharing the same information, but do not have the complete file.

From there, just open the torrent file with your client, choose a save destination, then sit back and wait as the file(s) is/are downloaded.

Well what I do is I Google what I want.

Like for example... I want the first season of Scrubs.
So on Google, I type "Scrubs Season 1 torrent."
A lot of websites will come up. I just choose one of them.
Then you click on "Download Torrent" on any of those sites.
It will then say you have to download a torrent program.
For me, it popped up. The program that came up for me was Azureus.

So there ya go. Just Google what ya want with the word torrent in the search. Then it is pretty much laid out for you already. : }

Hope that helped!! Have fun. :P
