a lot of people are too insecure in themselves, just as many are not homophobic. some see "not being interested" in the same sex as homophobia which is wrong. there is far too many people looking to blame others or blame society for problems which do exist without looking at why the problem exists. also there are too many words ending with "ism" or "ic" which people see the need to fight a cause for. if people dont want singled out then they shouldnt make such a huge deal of there differences.
if i was ethnic minority or gay and went on a rally or march to fight my cause it would be accepted and praised. as a white straight man, if i were to do it i would be classed as a racist homophobe, we live in a world of differences.

When you say 'gay people' you don't really mean all the gay population, do you?
I don't have an 'internalised homophobia', and however, of course, in that case I'd be more comfortable with a doctor who can undertand another gay man better than a straight doctor.
In fact, it is very likely, that most of my 'symptoms' are not a new subject to a gay doctor, since possibly at some point, even my doctor experienced some subtle or overt forms of internalized self-hatred or self-loathing, etc.

Who is "constantly telling you homosexuality is wrong, abnormal, etc."? We live in one of the most sexually tolerant eras ever. I assume by your good English that you live in the UK, the US, Australia, Canada or NZ. I've visited all these countries and have relatives in most of them, some of whom are gay.
You're mixing with the wrong people, love.

Really, I don't know. I live in a large gay friendly area. I don't see myself as needing therapy to find happiness within myself. There are people who are going to dislike me for any number of reasons...from being blond and blue eyed to being gay. The world I live in doesn't treat homosexuality as abnormal or wrong...from my grocers to my dentist and doctors..everybody is gay or gay friendly.

sure, homophobia is incorrect. Your citation is so tragic, yet unusually eye-catching. the author has an really sturdy pen. Auntie Kookoo I see from lurch's answer that it truly is time for me to bypass troll on R&S for awhile, they are so puzzling to regulate, are not they? lol.
