If you see more respected old player and who is good thinker of the game, who follow a lot of local cricket had given good results as a selector. for example Chandu Borde, India won the World cup in 1983 team was selected by him.
Kiran More was good as good as a player to some extent but as a selector he was worst he made the issue of Saurav worst and eventually ended a career of the talented cricketer, thank god that now we get a very wise and correct cool person as chief of the selection committee, Dilip Vengeskar, if we see at the records of Dilip he has performed well, he was the chairperson of the national talent hunt committee so he really follows the local cricket, also he had make it compulsory to play the stars in the Ranji trophy which was avery good step instead of shooting for advt. siting a reason of more international cricket. So Overall now I think we will see a good team combination here onwards under the able leadership of Dilip Vengerkar.

yes, but there is a quota for it...out of 11 players playing in the team, there should be 1 player atleast who has talent....according to the research done by,we fans of cricket, we found that 60% of players are with political background, out of which 30% are from mumbai, and 35% gets selected with rupee power, so the talented guys has to get selected in this 5%.....

My dear friend, It is a good question asked by you. In my openion, the selection committy of india in the leadreship of kiran more was dull and unable to find talented boys across india but now, in the leadership of Dilip Vengsarkar, indian cricket will go in right direction. Friend, i think now vengsarkar have to find talanted boys from small towns. but i am not confirm that Gerg Chapple wants it. He wants to destroy indian cricket. no talented guy is coming to indian team in the coaching of chapple.
